Waterproof Tiger Paws Now Available!
Just a quick note to let you know about the waterproof Tiger Paws. Many people who have used Tiger Paws for years don’t know that we make a waterproof version. They are made from a light weight, fast drying material. Platform divers have been using them for quite a while now. They still use the same foam and plastic inserts to tune the stiffness of the Tiger Paw. In addition to athletes, these would be a great option for someone who works in a hot environment and perspires a lot. The benefit would be that you could rinse theme out or wash them frequently and they would dry fast, ready for use the next day!

are these waterproof supports specifically and only for diving? Or can my husband use them for swimming laps? He has a powerful stroke and is limited in his swimming only by the pain through his wrists. He used to swim competitively and knows strokes … but the force through the wrist is too great anymore.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Cat,
Great question! While I am not aware of anyone who has used our Waterproof Tiger Paw for swimming, I can’t think of any reason why it would not be useful for that activity. The basic function of the Tiger Paw is to act as sort of an “extra muscle” for the wrist. A popular misconception about our wrist support is that it locks the wrist in a straight position. This is not the case. Through a combination of adjustment of the velcro straps, and the type and quantity of inserts that are used in the Tiger Paw, the stiffness of the flex can be tuned for a particular use. In your husbands case, being a strong swimmer, I’m guessing that he would want all of the inserts installed during use for maximum stiffness.
I suggest he try a pair, and let us know how they work for him!
For a demonstration of the idea watch Elaine do some great yoga poses with a pair of Tiger Paws providing extra support – Yoga wrist supports
